Feature Set:  

DFSee doesn't offer as many features and variables as our higher–ranked products do for disk imaging, you can create recovery scripts and resize image storage space and partitions before restoring. You can also make an exact copy of an existing disk, partition, or volume, and verify accuracy as you go. DFSee also has contents based disk geometry (sniffing), GRUB detailed reporting and analysis, and  and allows you to generate HTML menu-documentation. For more detail on what DFSee does and doesn't offer, see the Disk Imaging Homepage.

Ease of Use:  

DFSee disk imaging software is difficult for a computer novice to understand and use because the control panel resembles a DOS control panel and isn't self–explanatory; you must guide yourself. There are several menus to choose from, but knowing which to use is a skill that comes with time and experience since DFSee doesn't offer guidance.

Backup/Restore Process:  

Because of the difficulty operating DFSee, we were unable to learn how to make a complete image of our test hard drive in the time allotted.

Help/Support:  

DFSee comes with fair documentation, and the website has links to tutorials, frequently asked questions and forums. The forum link is difficult to find, as is the online help section itself. The online tutorial wasn't as easy to understand as we'd hoped. You can contact Fsys Software by email with customer questions, but only after you've registered your software.
