Acronis True Image Product Details

New features for 2010:

  • Support for Microsoft® Windows 7 - Delivers more comprehensive functionality over Microsoft Windows 7 backup capabilities.\
  • Virtual Hard Disk Support - Convert Acronis’ backup images (.tib) into virtual hard disk files(.vhd) and vice versa, providing compatibility for Microsoft Windows 7 backup.
  • New Powerful Scheduler - In addition to the scheduling tools found in previous versions, the new scheduler expands the amount of scheduling options available. Use the new calendar view to build schedules and tasks. Suspend and enable tasks, specify dates to run tasks, and copy tasks to new dates.
  • Continuous Data Protection - Acronis Nonstop Backup™ automatically creates incremental backups every five minutes allowing users to roll back their system, files, and folders to any point in time.
  • Acronis Online Backup™ capability - Optional Acronis online storage services are available to automatically backup valuable data or files over the internet to a secure location.
  • Boot from Windows 7 image - Windows 7 Ultimate users can boot from a backup image (.tib file) containing a backup of their system partition. This will allow the ability to test a backed up system without actual restoration. If the operating system boots from the .tib file, then it will boot when the need arises for a system recovery.

Hi, I did a 30-day trial of both Home 2009 and Home 2010. In both cases, I could not backup my C: drive partition if it was more than 4.7gb of data, needing more than a single dvd. I could write to another disk over a network to another computer, in 4.

True Image is a good program, but has (or had, in my version) a rather large fault. It got into a terrible fight with Norton Anti-Virus and clobbered my hard drive. Rather than a backup, I had to rebuild from scratch. I should have disabled Norton, or Acronis should have warned me. In any case, I will not use it again.

It has been my experience that Norton does not co-exist with many programs.. and it is a big resource hog. I would switch to another A/V program. It is also almost impossible to completely reomve without going to their site and downloading a special removal tool. Sheesh!

This software really isn't good as what you think it is! It partitioned my hard drive without showing any notification or warning! Do not use this software if you are not well proficient in partitioning coz it will put your hard drive in big trouble.
